After months of Stallin', the NDP government of Alberta has decided to implement, at the same time, its two most attractive ideas: environmental fundamentalism and more taxes (hundreds of dollars a month per average household), in the form of a carbon tax, "a cap on oilsands emissions, a phasing out of coal-fired electricity and an emphasis on [bird-killing] wind power" (here). Add this to the NDP's blow to business via the corporate tax hike. Which is exactly what we need in a time of low oil prices, economic recession, and Justin Trudeau.
